		<description>i am training my son to play college football in the fall. i have experiance but have been researching the best method of periodiztion for his purpose. he is 6&#039;3   275   bench 400
great shape, but plays center and need 15 to 20 pounds of muscle not weight. i have about 5 months until he leaves for school. what would you do with him.

		<description>I believe that you can remain at the same calorie level for 2-3 days then ramp down to maintainence before ramping up again in the 2-3 days leading up to week 3.
This is only approximate but seems to be about right.</description>

		<description>During the 2 weeks of deloading, do you keep the surplus EXACTLY the same relative to maintenanace calories, so still shooting for 0.5-1lb of weight gain for the week?

If you were eating 10-15% above maintenance previously and gaining around .5-.75lb a week, would you maintain this surplus or reduce it in half to 5-10% over maintenance, or all the way down to maintenance perhaps?

It&#039;s hard to believe that by day 10 of the deload, you&#039;d still be building muscle with the surplus...but maybe I&#039;m wrong!
