General FAQ

Q: Do you offer a guarantee on your products?

A: All of my books come with an unconditional 100% Money Back Guarantee. If you are dissatisfied with your purchase for any reason, simply ship the book back to Vervante and I will happily refund your purchase to you.

Q: What formats are your books offered in?

A: The Bromocriptine book is only available in e-book format. The newly revised Rapid Fat Loss Handbook is also available in e-book format. The other books are currently only available as hardcopies. Please note that I have no intention of ever offering either The Protein Book or The Stubborn Fat Solution in e-book form.

Q: Which book is best for me?

A: As with so many questions, it depends. If you are a lean bodybuilder or athlete who needs to lean out while maintainign performance and you aren't in a hurry, the UD2 is probably your best choice. When you want the fastest fat/weight loss possible in the shortest time, the Rapid Fat Loss Handbook is the best choice. If you're the type of dieter who is either on a diet or off, and want to break out of that cycle, consider A Guide to Flexible Dieting. The Ketogenic Diet is for low-carb dieters who want to know all of the details of what happens on a low-carbohydrate diet. Finally, Bromocriptine is for people who are willing to go to the gray area of importing drugs to help solve a tricky body problem. The first five to six chapters are an excellent introdution to the physiology of bodyweight regulation even if you don't intend to use the drug.

Q: What kinds of payment do you accept?

A: I can take all credit cards except for American Express directly through the shopping cart. You can also use Paypal.

Q: What's the best way to ask a question about your products?

A: I have set up a support forum for my products at the following link.

FAQ about the Rapid Fat Loss Handbook

Q: I'm very interested in the rapid fat loss plan, can you give me a little bit of an idea what it entails (I plan to buy the book)?

A: The diet described in the Rapid Fat Loss Handbook is a modified protein sparing modified fast. It's goal is to provide all of the essential nutrients (protein, essential fatty acids, vitamins/minerals) while providing minimum caloric intake. This allows for maximal fat and weight loss while still providing sufficient nutrition.

Q: Can I follow this diet as a vegetarian?

A: As long as you eat chicken, fish or eggs, you'll be fine. If you don't eat any animal products, you'll find it very difficult to do the diet.

Q: I am a bodybuilder at 12% bodyfat who is beind on his contest preparation, will I lose muscle mass following the diet in the Rapid Fat Loss Handbook?

A: A number of fairly lean individuals have used the diet setup in the Rapid Fat Loss Handbook, assuming they set the diet up properly, none have reported any lean body mass losses.

Q: I know you are a big fan of refeeding on a diet, will I get to do refeeds on this diet?

A: It depends on what category you are in (based on your activity and bodyfat levels); that determines when you get to have free meals, refeeds, or even take a full diet break.

FAQ about A Guide to Flexible Dieting

Q: Is this a diet book?

A: No, A Guide to Flexible Dieting is more about certain behavior patterns that tend to derail diets. However, nutrition and eating patterns are discussed. Guidelines for optimizing your fat and weight loss efforts are also discussed.

Q: Can you tell me a little bit more about what's in the book?

A: In addition to adressing reasons why diets fail, the flexible dieting guide describes three strategies: free meals, structured refeeds, and even full diet breaks that dieters can use to help break the pattern of failure that tends to occur when people try to be too absolute in their diet.

FAQ for the Ultimate Diet 2.0

Q: I'm a male at 18% (or higher) bodyfat, is the UD2 right for me?

A: Generally speaking, no. I recommend people use simpler approaches until they reach about 12-15% bodyfat for men and 21-24$% for women. It's usaully not necessary to use a complicated diet approach before that point.

Q: Do I have to follow the training structure in the book?

A: Yes, the diet is an integrated system of training and nutrition, neither works in isolation.

Q: I'm a broke college student, are a lot of expensive supplements required to make the UD2 work?

A: No, there are a few recommended supplements but the diet can be done with food.

Q: I'm a vegetarian, can I use the UD2?

A: It tends to be very difficult to do any sort of low-carb diet as a vegetarian, although a lot depends on how strict of a vegetarian you are. If you eat fish and chicken, you should have no problems.

Q: I can't work out on the weekends, can I still do the UD2?

A: Yes, there is a variant in the book that puts all the training during the Mon-Fri week.

Q: I've used Bodyopus in the past with excellent results, why is the UD2 better?

A: For a variety of reasons, I think that the original Ultimate Diet was a better diet than Bodyopus (which was still an excellent diet). So I decided to go back to the source, and update the original Ultimate Diet with modern research, on top of putting it into a more convenient 7 day cycle.
