Allow me to be the first of the new comments then:

Lyle, I am new to your articles, but not new to bodybuilding. I am extremely impressed with your knowledge and very grateful for how meticulous you are, like me, when it comes to the science behind it all.

Anyway, my question is this: I know you say fats during bulking should be around .4-.5g/lb. If fats were lowered to say .3-.35g/lb, provided 6-10g of standard fish oil is taken, do you think there would be a hormone/testosterone deficiency? The only reason I am hesitant to go up to .4-.5 is because I know when you combine insulin with fats, the fats are more readily stored, and with the abundance of carbohydrates consumed on a mass gaining program (~2-3g/lb), I want to keep fats to a bare minimum without facing testosterone deficiencies.

This leads into a second part question: Do you feel later meals can be combined with say 1/2cup brown rice as well as 10-14g fat coming from monos/saturates in say lean ground turkey, or do you subscribe to the theory of SEPARATING carbs and fats for the most part? I know some people say this improves body composition, but I think there's a tradeoff with less insulin/glycogen throughout a portion of the day. Just trying to find the sweet spot/balance point...for gains &body composition

I know that was long, but I figured this comment section was lacking. :)

Thanks so much and keep up the great work.

Just a note to everyone. This article previously had comments attached but, unfortunately, the original was lost in a site glitch last week. I didn't delete them but was unable to recreate them.
