You can't 'crunch' away ab fat. You can do 1,000 crunches a day and it'll do you no good. The only way to show your abs is to lose fat from all over your body. Eventually this will help strip the fat that covering your abs too. The actor Mark Wahlberg - who has an extremely toned mid-section, with chiselled abs - says he does NO abs work whatever! Personally, I believe in cardio and bodyweight exercise. I hate weights. I use cardio bodyweight circuits. I also run three days a week - steady state for 30-40 mins. It doesn't matter what you do, so long as you're consistent in your exercise and you watch what you eat. Running is definitely good for fat loss. Don't listen to people who tell you it isn't. It's all down to the overall plan you have - nutrition, effective exercise, and determination.
